Smart TV apps have not been updated for several years unfortunately. The moment Android TV gained traction, app owners focused on Android.
But TV manufacturers keep putting TVs with their operating systems which is cheaper for them. In some models it is still possible to find applications with good performance, but for a fee.
An Android box is more prepared for IPTV than a smart TV.
